What is RoHS?
RoHS is the European Directive 2002/95/EC for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
RESTRICTIONS
RoHS is usually identified as the directive "Lead Free", but also restricts the use of other substances such as:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Chromium VI (also known as hexavalent chromium)
- PBB (Polibromodifeneledidos)
- PBDE (Polibromodifeneledidos ethers)
PBBs and PBDEs are both substances flame retardants used in plastics.
